BirdieBox is currently seeking a highly passionate, proactive, and detail-forward thinker to join our team as a Controller. This is a new full-time position and is responsible for working closely with the Chief Executive Officer to manage the day-to-day financial functions of the business. This person needs to be super diligent on making sure we abide all government rules and regulations, as well as keeping the company on a strict budget that will aide in continued growth.
• Prepare and maintain capital and operating budgets on a yearly/quarterly basis.
• Manage the accounts receivable and payables for the company.
• Handle all bank functions (depositing checks, withdrawals, etc.)
• Monitor company credit cards purchasing and billing.
• Prepare and communicate investor documents for a yearly business review.
• Partner with the Chief Revenue Officer to create Sales Team KPI’s, and help manage the results.
• Partner with the Director of Operations to drive performance in the Warehouse and develop cost reduction strategies to meet financial targets.
• Work closely with each department to provide financial input to help with decision making and funding of programs/projects.
• Provide necessary analytics to highlight key business performance drivers.
• Assist in the growth of the company by providing financial data and knowledge that helps decision making.
• Manage internal and external audit requirements, ensure compliance to tax laws.
• Assist CEO with obtaining future investors, as well as maintaining the agreements with the current investor pool.
• Significant experience with accounting and investor funding
• Ability to hold the company accountable to financial best practices, high ethics and integrity
• Must be a self-starter with effective time management skills
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Proactive, autonomous and self-motivated with a sense of urgency and dedication to accuracy
• Excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative management and work style, Open to feedback
